Souls of Our Shoes is an exhibition of physical shoes accompanied by comments from those who have walked away from abuse.
Individuals and groups are welcome to drop in during this time to view the exhibition and stand in solidarity with all who experience domestic abuse.
Rector of Carrigrohane Union of Parishes, Revd Robert Ferris commented –
“The issue of Domestic Violence is one of those hidden topics which face every street, community and society around the world. It is surrounded in secrecy, shame and pain. Statistics are horrifying 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men suffer from some sort of violence / abuse. By raising this issue in the public domain we want to say its not right, there is help available. I am thankful to the team here at the Carraig Centre for preparing and staffing this important national exhibition. “
The exhibition is open at the West Wing of the Carraig Centre, Old Quarter Ballincollig, P31 PV20 10am -12noon every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday of August.
