Activities at the Carraig Centre

Alpha

Most of us have asked “What is life all about?” at some time or other!  Start to find some answers with us on our next Alpha course!  Alpha is an 11-week course that creates a space, online or in person, where people have a time of learning, laughter and discussion about life, faith and Jesus.  It is based on hospitality, sharing and open conversation, where no questions are wrong and all perspectives can be discussed. The same Alpha content is run all over the world by Christians of all traditions and provides a common expression of faith.  Last year alone, more than 5,000 people in Ireland experienced Alpha, and millions more have attended Alpha in over 100 countries and over 100 languages around the globe. People of all faiths and none have enjoyed the course and all are welcome!

Check out https://www.alphaireland.org for more detailed information or call the Carraig Centre office to find out more.  Our next Alpha course will start in the autumn at the end of September and will run in-person.  Register your interest at cupcork.ie/alpha-course, more details to follow.

Birthday Parties/Private Events

We have several possibilities for birthday parties and private events.  During COVID restricted periods where outdoor gatherings are allowed you may rent our outdoor areas (Ball playing area, playground and patio garden).  The garden patio can have a shower proof canopy over it to give a measure of rain proofing!  A toilet is available in the adjacent playroom.

When restrictions are eased (as now) we offer our playroom (20-25 people max) together with the outdoor play areas and a kitchen space as well.  In the winter a larger indoor space (50 people max or more by special arrangement) may be available as well.  In addition the Mezzanine room is available (30 people max) with its own kitchenette and toilet for medium sized parties which do not require access to the outdoor play areas.

Rates for these spaces range from €25-€50/hour, depending on which spaces are booked.

Call the office at 021 487 7260 to book. Leave a message if no one answers and we will get back to you.

Growth Group: a midweek Bible study and discipleship group.

We have a dynamic and interesting group of learners and seekers who aim to grow in faith, love and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  After taking the Alpha course many want to continue on in discussion, action and learning and Growth Group offers a way to do this together.  The members of Growth Group and others from the wider congregation and other friends are often the leaders and hosts on the next or subsequent Alpha courses.  We are using on-line participation this coming year (2021/2022).  The group has a changing membership and always welcomes new members who have either completed an Alpha course or equivalent or are willing to try out the next one!

There are seveal other mid-week Bible study groups at varying dates, times and places around the Parish.  Contact the office 021 487 7260 for more information on these.
